Edmund Toomey

ORIENTEERING

Edmund is an Orienteering athlete from Albany, He has been orienteering since he was 2, and is not planning on stopping any time soon.

He has represented WA in the Orienteering State Schools Team twice, in 2023 and 2024. His best results include placing 1st in the 2023 National Sprint Championships and 2nd in the National Relay by under a second in under 12s. In 2024 as an under 14 he placed 7th in the National Sprint and 9th in the National Long Distance Championships. This was his first year in the under 14s age group and his big goal for 2025 is to have a podium finish in the National Champs and the National Schools Champs.

Edmund is active in the local Orienteering club and has set events and helped to coordinate local interschool events. His longer-term goals are to represent Australia at the Junior and Open World Orienteering Championships, and to see as much of the world as he can whilst doing so.
